Atlanta Streets Alive is a new type of festival being sponsored by the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition and City Councilman Kwanza Hall (who is also on Twitter which is great to see). The festival here in Atlanta will temporarily close down approximately two miles of Edgewood and Auburn Avenue to cars from 1 until 6pm on Sunday May 23rd. Beginning at 1 p.m. with a kickoff ceremony at Woodruff Park, Atlanta Streets Alive will feature a wide variety of activities along the route designed with Atlanta’s diversity in mind. Check out this great interactive map detailing all of the great stops along the festival route.
Foursquare Atlanta has teamed up with the folks at Atlanta Streets Alive to help them create a component for Foursquare Players that will be in attendance at the event. What will that be? So glad you asked. There are 4 venues that have been created and all tagged and titled with “ATL Streets Alive” that are spread out along the festival route. Those venues are:
All you have to do is visit all 4 of those venues and check-in…then go to the ASA Information booth in Woodruff Park and show your check-in history…and they will give the first person a free T-shirt and everyone else a free Bicycle Pin and a Water Bottle!! So get out there and Foursquare your way thru Atlanta Streets Alive yall!!
