The 2011 US Open hits New York City August 29-September 11th and the USTA has partnered with foursquare to give tennis fans the opportunity to earn a limited edition badge plus a chance to win tickets to the 2011 Men’s Singles Final match. Unlike many of the event specific badges this one is available worldwide. Users who follow the US Open on foursquare and check in any “tennis court” categorized venue between 8/29 and 9/11 will earn the badge. Those users who unlock the US Open badge before 9/6 will be entered to win a trip for two to NYC to watch the 2011 Men’s Singles Final (official rules). The unlock text reads:
Advantage: you! Congrats on checking in to the US Open- the largest annually attended sporting event in the world. Enjoy 2 weeks of heart-pounding tennis action featuring over 500 players serving up more aces than you can count. Game. Set. Check in!

Atlanta is a big tennis town thanks to great organizations like ALTA so I’m sure this badge will be highly sought after by foursquare users in the metro area. The tips from the US Open are centered around the event in New York which should be useful for fans attending the tournament.
Good luck on winning the trip to New York and have fun earning this new limited edition US Open tennis badge.
