Everyone knows that a “baker’s dozen” in measurement equals 13 which is one more than a standard dozen. One of the most widely accepted reasons for the extra unit dates back to the 13th century when bakers started providing one additional item so that they could not be charged with shorting their customers. Foursquare just launched the newest category based badge and is rewarding users who frequent bakeries. The unlock text clearly states how many check-ins are needed to earn this new digital merit badge:
A bakers dozen of bakery visits! You must really love the fresh-baked goodness of baguettes and beignets. Why not reward yourself by curling up with a nice croissant?
I love the smell of freshly baked bread and am a total sucker for desserts so I doubt it will take me long to earn this new Foursquare badge. Be sure to check your local bakeries to make sure they are properly categorized so that everyone’s check-ins are being accurately captured for not only earning this new badge, but also to ensure data integrity for the explore function in the app.
What are your favorite bakeries in the metro Atlanta area?
