Foursquare has regularly provided badge unlocking treats for users as they celebrate All Hallows’ Eve. In both 2010 and 2011, Foursquare released two similar sets of badges: a Jack-o-Lantern featuring the year and a Spooky Swarm badge featuring ghosts in 2010 and bats in 2011. The 2012 set features the same two badge styles, but they have added one more for those folks truly adventurous on Halloween. The Jack-o-Lantern badge can be unlocked at any time from Oct 27th through Oct 31st by adding the mention of Halloween to any check-in. During that same time frame, folks who check-in to a venue with at at least 9 other Foursquare users will unlock the Spooky Swarm badge featuring severed zombie hands. With Halloween falling on a Wednesday this year, Foursquare has created a third one modeled after their School Night Badge. If it follows similar rules as the regular badge, this one will likely be reserved only for those staying up late and checking in to a venue after 3am on Halloween night.

There are plenty of parties and other popular venues around Atlanta on Halloween night and the weekend before so earning these badges should be easy. The Halloween school night one might prove more difficult for some of us. Please remember to help reduce venue clutter by closing temporary venues that you create for Halloween related gatherings.
Have fun unlocking these badges and happy Halloween everyone!
