2013 4sqDay Badges & Giveaways

2013 4sqday badgeThe annual Foursquare Day celebration is upon us once again and the day wouldn’t be complete without a party and…badges! For the 4th year, Foursquare has created a one day only badge to reward users for checking in on this LBS holiday. Like stamps on a passport, many users are proud to show off their years using the platform by the number of 4sqDay badges they have collected – I’m quite proud of my 2010 badge. Earning the 2013 badge is easy. All users need to do is simply check-in once on April 16th. That’s it! Folks who do this will see the following unlock text:

Happy 4sqDay! Find a new local business in Explore, and check in to show your support.

2013 4sqday untappd badgeUntappd is another popular social networking application, but this one caters to the craft beer drinkers. The app is built using location data powered by the Foursquare API and they have long been a supporter of 4sqDay and the Foursquare community. For the 3rd year in a row, they will be issuing a unique badge that is only available on 4sqDay. To unlock this badge, you need to check-in to a beer on April 16th and push that check-in through to Foursquare (must link the apps in the Untappd settings). Please visit the Untappd blog post to learn more about the badge and for details on how to link your account to Foursquare. Fun fact: SweetWater Brewery was the most popular venue in the world on 4sqDay last year. I’m hoping we will be able to retain our title at 5 Seasons Brewing Westside for the 2013 Atlanta event.

2013 Atlanta 4sqday giveawaysThanks to the support from the 2013 Atlanta 4sqDay sponsors, we will have custom Atlanta 4sqDay party items to giveaway to attendees. The first 100 persons to enter the event and show their check-in will receive a free 2013 Atlanta 4sqDay t-shirt. The first 200 people will receive a 2013 Atlanta 4sqDay koozie. The awesome folks at Foursquare have sent us 300 collapsable water bottles to give away to attendees as they enter as well. The event and the items are free, but we are suggesting attendees bring 4 non-perishable food items or donate $4 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. They will be at the entrance collecting donations. Let’s use this gathering as an opportunity to do some good for those in need right here in Atlanta.

Don’t forget to visit the list of deals from Atlanta area businesses who are running one day only check-in specials for users on 4sqDay.
